We speak with the CEO of the company, Francisco Javier Cantoral.   How did Teralco Group start? Our company was founded in 2002 by a team of independent engineers and professionals. We are located in Alicante’s technological epicenter, that is part of the ecosystm of the Valencian Digital District. From day one we have chosen to be different, so while other companies talk about automating and robotizing we aim to humanize technology so that the digitization process is simple, intuitive and less traumatic for companies.   How would you define the company’s work philosophy? Our DNA is built on three main pillars. The first is a passion for technology that defines our team of more than 100 engineers, experts that constitute our main value and of whom we take great care. That is why we have implemented equality and work conciliation plans that have resulted in a very low employee turnover, which is unusual within the sector. The second pillar is our closeness, which allows us to overcome technological barriers and bring solutions closer to our customers and their needs. Finally, we work in a natural and simple way: we develop flexible technology tailored to each client. In this sense, our experience in different sectors allows us to find the best solution to guarantee a successful digital transformation.   What are the company’s main business lines? We have four large business areas. Teralco Desarrollo offers innovative solutions for the end customer by developing customized software; Teralco Big Analytics provides specialized analytical consulting services providing real value to data for intelligent decision making; Teralco CRM integrates the world leader in CRM, Salesforce, and adapts it to the needs of each client; finally at DevCenter, a technological center of excellence in Alicante, we focus on the development of cutting-edge and specialized technologies. THE CITY COUNCIL OF ALICANTE LAUNCHES IT’S OPEN GOVERNMENT PANEL

At a global level, data and information, especially that held by public administrations, must be available to all citizens, as stipulated in the Spanish Transparency Law (Ley de Transparencia de acceso a la Información Pública y Buen Gobierno 19/2013).   At Teralco Group we create innovative technological solutions to promote the accessibility and transparency of organizations. Our data experts work to discover the data universe of public and private companies transforming them with intelligent technology.   To facilitate transparency and access to public information, we have developed the Open Data portal. This platform aims to publish public information in an open and reusable way, so that both citizens and companies have access to it for consultation.   Alicante City Council is part of the Spanish Smart Cities Network (RECI) who’s objective is to exchange and design Smart City projects with other State Councils and with different social entities; leding to the launch of Alicante’s Open Government Panel last week.   Alicante City Council has trusted our solution, and has incorporated our Open Data portal in their Open Government platform. This allows the organisation to make a series of data and public information easily accessible to the public and for their use, collaborating in the new culture of recycling of information.   This portal will facilitate the City Council’s commitment to strengthening its transparency, with the publication of public information on: the Municipal Council, citizen participation, economic-financial information, hiring and costs of public services, agreements and subsidies, as well as information on matters of urbanism, public works and the environment.   How does Open Data benefit citizens?   The Open Data portal provides greater transparency to the Public Administration, generating more trust in the institutions, and improving the quality of information.   With access to the Open Data portal, citizens can search and navigate easily to find different types of data. The interface is intuitive and easy to use, allowing users to be self-sufficient.   The information is classified and grouped offering the option to filter data, download it in different formats, or preview it ss a chart, a graph and even as a “Map” if there are fields in the datasets that correspond to longitude and latitude.     Free and Complete Electronic Administration platform   In addition to our Open Data portal; 17 years of experience in the digital transformation of Public Administrations, has allowed Teralco Group to develop and perfect the Electronic Administration product, Gexflow, in which the Open Data portal is currently integrated. Gexflow is a modular and free electronic administration solution, already implemented in more than 100 City Councils and Provincial Councils in Spain.   For...

Technology in the real estate sector

Technology in the real estate sector

The real estate sector has undergone a complete digital transformation, so much so that the go-to place for information on the sector is the internet. 98% of potential buyers start their search online, where they can find all the information they need. The days when real estate agents were the guardians of information and an indispensable part of buying and selling, are over.   The way to make a difference in this new era is technological development, which allows companies to increase business efficiency and offer high quality customer service. The expectations of consumers have skyrocketed and to succeed you have to be flexible, understand complex situations, and know your customers in detail.   Understanding what factors engage a buyer when they visit your website or real estate portal is essential, to be able to offer a personalised experience. That’s why this year Cajamar has focused on the real estate sector for their annual University Hack.   Cajamar University Hack 2019 is the largest data analytics competition in Spain. It consists of a Datathon in which 630 students from 21 Spanish universities will compete to predict if a real estate offer will be successful. As in previous years, Teralco Group are sponsors of the event, and we are proud to contribute to a national contest that promotes data science in Spain.   This year one of the challenges is the “Minsait real estate modelling”. For this challenge, participants must obtain a predictive model to establish the reasons why a real estate web page is more visited than others. As the internet is the main source of information for citizens, understanding the number of visits and the time a user spends on a web page is one of the key factors for the management of digital assets. For this challenge, Cajamar has the support of Idealista and Haya Real Estate as Data Partners.     The participants will have to estimate the duration of visits received on a specific web page, for each property for sale. They must also establish what factors make a real estate portal more popular than others.   The objective is to develop a predictive model using Machine Learning techniques. To do so the participants will be provided with historical data on housing and other real estate assets, throughout the Spanish territory. Students will analyse property data such as location, size, price, description, images, and information about user experience on the website.   An added value is to gain a clear and concise predictive model that can be reproduced in the real estate sector at the end of the challenge. On April 11, an open event...

Provia selects Teralco Group as its technological partner specialised in the real estate sector

Technological development has changed the real estate market, and with increasingly more digital tools to bridge the gap between services and the customer, industry leaders know that  applying the right technology can make their business stand out from the rest.   Consumer expectations have skyrocketed and both SMEs and large companies have adapted to respond to the demands of an increasingly connected buyer. The numbers prove it: more than 80% of Europeans say that the internet is their first option when looking for a house, and 75% of searches end with a sale.   To encourage the digital transformation of the real estate sector, Teralco Group has signed a strategic agreement with Provia, the Association of Real Estate Developers of the Province of Alicante, to become its technological partner. Provia is a flagship association that represents and defends the interests of the real estate sector in Alicante, and promotes the professionalisation of agents.   The digital transformation of the real estate sector is no longer an option, but an obligation, and at Teralco Group we are experts in stimulating this change. We hope that the collaboration between Provia and Teralco Group helps to drive the digital maturity of agents in the area.   At Teralco Group we have extensive experience in the real estate sector, and our developments have placed us at the forefront of innovation for the sector in Spain. Engagement and customer loyalty thanks to the analysis of data from different sources giving companies a unique insight of the customer to improve the commercial offer. How to land your dream job in a technology company

Technology is one of the professional sectors with the greatest projection for the coming years. The wide range of opportunities, together with the lack of specialized professionals capable of meeting the growing demand, means that more and more people are interested in learning and working in this sector. The Technology sector has one of the most active labour markets in the world, and has been classified as the leading sector in emerging professions and innovation. Working conditions in technology companies are usually substantially better than average: good contracts, advantages such as flexible hours or remote work, and above average wages mean it is not surprising that more and more young people choose this line of work. It remains the least competitive sector by far. Computer and telecommunications experts are the most sought after in the market, so much so that a candidate usually competes on average with just 11 people for a job, four times less than the median, according to Infojobs. In addition, these professionals are not only sought after in technology companies, but also in companies from other sectors that need these professional profiles to help drive their digital transformation. The European Union foresees that almost 900,000 technological jobs will be created by 2020, and stresses that the growth of the Spanish and European economy depends on development and training in the Science and Technology sectors. But how can you land your dream job? Here is our advice on how to start a successful carreer in the technology sector:    Choose your specialty To join an emerging sector, choosing  which areas you would like to specialize in will help you to define your professional career and differentiate yourself from others. Check out this Most Wanted list, of profiles needed in the technology sector from Infojobs: IT architects Programmers Analysts Cybersecurity and Hacking Consultants Specialists in Agile, Scrum or UX Mobile app programmers Big Data developers Robotics specialists The demand for these specialistis is very high, and because companies usually have difficulty filling these vacancies, they are well paid.    Never stop learning Whether you are still a student or already have several years experience, learning will become your greatest ally.
